Brutto? No, peggio.
Elena si è risvegliata, ed è ancra contesa tra Stefan e Damon, nella loro sempiterna lotta, che nonostante le varie promesse non sembra finire mai.
A questo si aggiunge un nuovo nemico invisibile e introvabile, giunto a Fell’s Church per la grande catalizzazione di potere che vi si è riversata nell’ultimo anno.
Che il libro sia stato scritto quasi 18 anni dopo l’uscita del quarto si vede, e ne risente in modo palese.
La storia è confusa, quasi non si volesse andare ad intaccare quelle poche cose degne di nota già inserite in Twilight, e la scrittura di certo non aiuta.
Frasi lunghissime e talvolta incapibili, discorsi sconclusionati.. senza contare svariati modi di dire tradotti letteralmente nella versione italiana.
Da ridere poi l’inizio, con Elena in versione spirito che riconosce al tocco i vestiti prodotti da manifatture clandestine.. tragicomico.
Il mio consiglio è questo: se volete andare avanti con la saga (a quanto pare i volumi successivi migliorano notevolmente rispetto a questo) leggetelo, altrimenti fate a meno, e non rovinatevi l’impressione lasciata dai precedenti.
Nota: nell’edizione Mondolibri i volumi Il Ritorno e Scende la notte sono stati ripristinati ad uno solo, come nella versione originale.
